There are two kinds of opinion on every stock. The Street's opinion is public: ratings, price targets, initiations, all published under an analyst's name. The Tape's opinion is quieter: what institutions are actually doing in the options market, in size, with real money. Until now you needed separate tools, or at least separate tabs, to compare them. The redesigned Options Explorer puts both on one screen.
Street vs Tape
Open any ticker in the Explorer and the Street card shows the analyst consensus: the ratings mix, the price targets, and how the view has shifted across recent windows. Next to it, the Tape: a summary of the ticker's live institutional options flow, bullish versus bearish premium, and the qualifying trades behind it. When the two agree, you know the positioning has public backing. When they disagree, when analysts sit at Buy while size quietly accumulates puts, that gap is often the most interesting thing on the screen, and the Explorer flags it instead of leaving you to spot it.
Neither side is a verdict. Analysts are late sometimes; flow is hedging sometimes. The point is seeing both claims side by side, at the moment you are forming your own.
A rebuilt Explorer around it
The consensus view arrived as part of a full redesign. Tickers now open into a card layout with the company profile, charts, and a Qualifying Flow table showing every trade that cleared the bar for that name, so the summary is auditable down to the print. Open-interest trends mark fresh positioning with a New badge when a strike goes from near-zero to active. Time windows are calendar days anchored to the latest trading session, so a Monday-morning look shows Friday's tape instead of an empty chart.
It pairs naturally with the rest of the platform: check a name's dark pool levels after reading its flow summary, or let a signal on your watchlist be the reason you open the Explorer in the first place. If you want a quick public look at how a single name's tape reads, the free preview pages like $NVDA options flow show the format.
Rolling out now
Street vs Tape and the Explorer redesign rolled out over the past few weeks, announced to subscribers by email alongside the rebuilt Market News page and multi-leg strategy rows on the flow tape. All of it is part of the single Pro plan, fully available during the 30-day free trial with nothing locked.
Analyst consensus platforms charge on their own for what is now one card in the Explorer. We think it belongs next to the tape, because that is where you actually use it.
